Yggdrasil Online, often referred to as YO, is a Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game or VRMMORPG created by Cilgard Entertainment. It was released internationally on January 1st 2063 (GMT) for the Nerve Gear and was the first and only title available for the console at launch.
YO is the flagship title for the Immersion Dive (ID) technology, allowing a fully immersive VR experience. What was originally thought to be a complex joke by the scientific community has launched into the public spotlight with the release of the Lorem Bitva, colloquially referred to as the Bit, a headset worn to immerse the user. ID technology has been hailed as completely groundbreaking, leapfrogging technology through barriers previously thought currently unattainable.
The Player Characters interact in a 3D environment in the same method they would in the physical world. YO features many systems that allow for complete interactive freedom in the virtual environment and provides support for Player vs Environment (PvE), Player vs Player (PvP) and Guild vs Guild (GvG) gameplay. Also supported by the game are Group vs Group systems, a world Arena, Player vs All and other specific gamemodes and scenarios at designated instances in the game world. NPC-run challenges and contests are also available with prizes, awards and/or with a hall of fame listing.
Players find themselves as part of the lucky(?) group of players who have found themselves a spot in the early access release of the heavily anticipated VRMMORPG Yggdrasil Online. Much like the source of inspiration, the game is not what it originally seems and the 10,000 "fortunate" early access players will find themselves trapped inside of Yggdrasil Online. Death in the game will result in death in the real world with the only means of escape to resolve the storyline set forth by the man behind the game.
